# 71 - Jarrod Washburn

Blog reader Dan has helped us out with some great signed 2008 Topps cards in the past. This time he's really out done himself. He sent over seven new cards. All of them are amazing!

I know I sent at least one TTM request to Jarrod Washburn before he retired in 2009. Even though he was always a pretty good signer, I didn't get my 2008 Topps card back. Thanks to Dan, we've got this one locked down now!

Jarrod put up some good numbers with the Mariners and he was a big part of the 2002 Angels team that won the World Series.

# 199 - Adrian Beltre

Another nice one we got signed over at a Spring Training practice in Surprise. Two-time All-Star, Adrian Beltre signed his 08 Topps card for our set. After a great season in Texas last year, Adrian has reestablished himself as one of the best third basemen in the game and arguably the best player on the Rangers. I stole that idea from the MLB Network's Top 100 Right Now show. They had him ranked above Josh Hamilton, Ian Kinsler, and Nelson Cruz. I'm not sure if I would agree. It's close but I'd rather have a healthy Hamilton or Cruz.

# 302 - Horacio Ramirez

Horacio Ramirez put together a few nice seasons for the Atlanta Braves and the Mariners looked to him to be a big part of their rotation in 2007. That didn't happen. He won 8 games and had an era over 7. Since then Horacio bounced around to a few different teams. Most recently he spent some time in Los Angeles with the Angels.

We recently picked up this signed 08 Topps card for our set. It features a nice Spring Training pic of Horacio over at the Peoria Sports Complex.

# 181 - J.J. Putz

Earlier this month, Joe Borowski signed the AL Save Leaders card for us. New D-Backs closer, J.J. Putz is on the same card. We were able to get him to sign it for us at Fan Fest last week.

# 474 - Yuniesky Betancourt

A friend from SweetSpotGraphs.com was able to get us a few 08 Topps cards signed last season. His home team is the Kansas City Royals so all four cards are of players who were on the Royals at some point last year.

First up is former Seattle Mariners infielder, Yuniesky Betancourt.

# 463 - John McLaren

Former Seattle Mariners manager, John McLaren signed a card for our set. John is currently the bench coach for the Washington Nationals. While doing a little research on his Wikipedia page, I realized John is now the bench coach under manager Jim Riggleman and Riggleman was McLaren's bench coach in Seattle.

# 303 - Jose Lopez

In previous years, we've never really spent too much time trying to get Seattle Mariners autographs during Spring Training. This year we did end up over there more times than expected. They have a pretty good team this year and most were great signers.

I think it's important to mention that out of all of the times I've been at the Mariners practice fields, I've never actually seen Jose Lopez. I actually had some help getting this card signed. My dad was over in Peoria one day in March and got this card signed for our set. Actually he helped us out with all of the Mariners cards that I'm posting about this week. Thanks, Dad!

# UH 80 - Erik Bedard

I was a little surprised to see Seattle Mariners pitcher, Erik Bedard out practicing last week. I know Erik is injured and not due to comeback until the beginning of summer. It was good to see him out there. I was excited when the Mariners traded for him a few years back and will be rooting for him to dominate opposing batters again like he did in 2007.

# 75 - Felix Hernandez

Felix Hernandez was the main reason we chose to visit the Mariners on the first day of Spring Training. He was an All-Star for the first time in 2009 and finished for the AL Cy Young Award behind Royals ace, Zack Greinke.

This is definitely one of the highlights of our set so far. Thanks, Felix!

# 57 - Wladimir Balentien

Another one from the lot... this one is of former Seattle Mariner Wladimir Balentien. On July 29, 2009 the Mariners traded Balentien to the Cincinnati Reds for reliever Robert Manuel.

# 485 - J.J. Putz

Another good one today. Former All-Star and current Mets reliever, J.J. Putz signed a card for the set. J.J. was named to the American League All-Star team in 2007 while pitching for the Seattle Mariners.

Mariners vs. Australia

Turned on MLB Network after I got home from work. A live Spring Training game featuring the Seattle Mariners against Australia's World Baseball Classic team was just beginning. This was first Spring Training game that Ken Griffey has played in this year. The stands looked pretty empty so I decided to go check it out. Griffey left after two at bats and didn't sign. I didn't end up staying too long but did okay. Got two for the Topps set and a few others.
