# 435 - Torii Hunter

Got a good one for the set. A friend on SCN helped us out with this signed 2008 Topps card of former Angels star, Torii Hunter. Torii signed it for him when the Tigers came through Pittsburgh late last month.

I actually have gotten Torii's autograph once before. It was way back in 1998 while he was playing in the Arizona Fall League. It was the first AZFL game I ever went to.

I'm pretty stoked to have this one. Torii's a four-time All-Star and has won nine Gold Glove awards.

Part of Mike Scioscia's super team out in Los Angeles consists of this guy who won his first Gold Glove at shortstop in 2011. Yup, Erick Aybar might not have the biggest bat but his defense is superb.

Man, this guy's going to have some fun next year. In addition to former All-Stars like Torii Hunter and Jered Weaver, Mike Scioscia will now get to manage Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson. I still like the Rangers but it's hard to not say that the Angels are the team to beat in the AL West.

Sean Rodriguez is one of those super utility players. He's started a game at every position except catcher and pitcher. Pretty cool. We recently picked up this signed card from the 08 Topps set.

Howie Kendrick signed his card from Series One of the 08 Topps set for us. Howie was a tenth round pick by the Angels in 2002. After a few years in the minors, he made his MLB debut in 2006 and has been a fixture in their infield ever since.

Got a nice package in the mail from blog reader Dan. It included two signed 08 Topps cards.

The first is of long-time Los Angeles Angels star, John Lackey. You may remember John from the 2007 All-Star game or the 2002 World Series. In 2010 he'll be putting on a Red Sox jersey and trying to add to his 102 career wins.

Best TTM yet: Vladimir Guerrero. The 8x All-Star and 2004 AL MVP is a great addition to our 08 Topps set.

I've gotten Vladimir's autograph before. He was a pretty good TTM signer back when he was with the Expos but stopped signing when he went to the Angels. I was really surprised to get this one back last week.
