# RR-LB - Lance Broadway - Relic Card

I still occasionally look for relic cards from the 2008 Topps set to see what I can get for super cheap. This Lance Broadway jersey card from the Updates & Highlights set cost me just over a buck shipped.

I did a quick web search on Lance to see what he was up to now. I was surprised to see he's moved on from baseball and seems to be trying his hand at acting. He had a small role in the movie, Olympus Has Fallen, which was released earlier this year.

Former Diamondbacks ace, Brandon Webb was signing autographs at a local store on Wednesday afternoon. I figured I'd check it out and ended up being pretty great. Brandon was super friendly. He signed a few cards for me and even a photo they provided.

Last November we picked up a Brandon Webb retail relic card from the 2008 Topps set. Brandon signed it for us. I didn't realize until just now that this is the first 2008 Topps relic card we've gotten signed for our collection. I think it turned out well.

Alfredo aka The Cardboard Don sent us this Brandon Webb jersey card in a trade a few weeks ago. I've been wanting this one for awhile but never pulled the trigger.

I guess Alfredo's getting out of the card game. According to his blog post yesterday he has begun selling somethings on eBay. Check out his auctions, there's some great stuff up there already.

Occasionally I'll remember to do a quick eBay search and see if I can score any of the relic cards that came in the 2008 Topps blasters. I grabbed this nice one of two-time All-Star, Mike Hampton for less than $2.

Grabbed this one for a buck or two. I'm not too into football but Kevin Kolb is the Arizona Cardinals quarterback and I guess I kind of like my hometown team. Notice the lack of enthusiasm in that statement. Maybe I'd be a little more excited if it was Peyton Manning... just sayin.

Anyway, I liked the green swatch on this one so it's now part of our 08 Topps collection.

Um... yah this one's pretty cool. No, not because it's of Rafael Furcal but because it has a black border and is numbered to 25 on the back. This is the first black border parallel retail relic I've seen.

Another 08 Topps card for Free Shipping Friday! We picked up this Garrett Atkins jersey card for $1.25 with free shipping. Now I know there's not a whole lot of demand out there for Atkins cards but I love the price and the nice purple swatch.

# RR-LG - Luis Gonzalez - Gold Relic Card

I've spent a decent amount of time searching eBay for good deals on 2008 Topps cards the past three years so I've seen pretty much everything that's out there. This is the only gold parallel relic card I've seen. Lucky for me, it's of one of my favorite former Diamondbacks, Luis Gonzalez.

This one looks even better in person and is numbered to 99 on the back.

We picked up this jersey card of Arizona Cardinals wide receiver, Early Doucet. If the Cards don't sign a free agent WR, Early will probably be their number two guy this year.

This 2008 Topps jersey card has been in our collection longer than most. I got this Todd Helton card out of a Series 2 blaster I bought during the summer of 08 just before my son was born. This was well before I had the idea of collecting 2008 Topps cards.
