# 43 - Aaron Hill - Chrome Printing Plate

Last July we picked up an Aaron Hill printing plate from the 2008 Topps Chrome set. The other day we had him autograph it. I think it turned out pretty well.

Aaron recently signed an extension with the D-Backs so it looks like he'll be a part of our infield for the next few years.

I noticed a lot of our recent posts have been on cards for our Diamondbacks Collection so I figured it was time for an 2008 Topps related post... of a current Diamondback!

I got this Aaron Hill 2008 Topps Chrome Printing Plate off eBay a few weeks ago. It's our first Chrome Printing Plate. I got it for a pretty good deal and ended up using only eBay bucks to pay for it. That made it even better.

Aaron's having a pretty good year this year. He's already hit for the cycle twice. That Kelly Johnson trade from last year looks like it's turning out well for us.

# 52 - Matt Leinart - Printing Plate

I remember being super excited when the Arizona Cardinals drafted Matt Leinart. His time here in AZ turned out to be kind of disappointing but he has a fresh start today. Matt should be the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans when they take the field later this morning. I wish him the best of luck.

I grabbed this printing plate a few months ago. I know our 08 Topps collection primarily focuses on baseball but I couldn't pass this up for $5.

I remember that not too long ago my Dad pulled a Ryan Garko printing plate out of a pack he bought at our local card shop. This was before I decided to collect the 2008 Topps set and didn't think much of it.

Every once and awhile I have thought about that card and how I haven't seen it in a long time. I remembered it being from the 2007 set not 2008. I was going through some of my Dad's things the other day and came accross the Garko plate. To my surprise, it was from 2008. Needless to say I was super stoked.

Every once in awhile I remember to search eBay to look for Printing Plates. I'm pretty picky about which ones I bid on. It has to be of a player I like and at a good price. I finally landed this one of former San Diego Padres outfielder, Scott Hairston.

On a side note, today is the first day of the 2011 All-Star Game Fan Fest. I'll be at the Phoenix Convention Center from approximately 9am - 9pm today.

Here's another early Christmas present... Josh Hamilton / Carlos Guillen classic combos cyan printing plate from the 2008 Topps Updates & Highlights set.

I've been wanting to get an 08 Topps printing plate of some kind to go along with our collection. Josh Hamilton is one of our favorite players so there was no way I could pass this one up.
