# 625 - Greg Maddux

As we reach the halfway point for our set it's getting harder to add new signed cards. This is especially true for in person successes during Spring Training. The good news is that when we do, it's often a good one.

In this case, it's a great one. Greg Maddux is a special instructor over at the Texas Rangers Spring Training camp. He's working with his brother and Rangers pitching coach, Mike Maddux. Greg was always one of my favorite players so I'm super excited that we were able to get him for our set.

# 52 - Trevor Hoffman

Yesterday's post seemed like the perfect segway to our 394th signed 08 Topps card.

Future Hall of Famer and the current All-Time Saves leader, Trevor Hoffman has been hanging around the Padres Spring Training camp alot this year. We caught up with him the other day and he signed a card for our set. Thanks, Trevor!

# 228 - Geoff Blum

I ended up doing better at the Diamondbacks Fan Fest than I thought I would. I'll be doing posts for each of the 2008 Topps cards I was able to get autographed all this week.

First up is newly acquired infiedler, Geoff Blum.

# 213 - Michael Barrett

Raiderdan from SweetSpotGraphs.com hooked us up with six more signed 08 Topps cards.

The final card sent was of former San Diego Padres catcher, Michael Barrett. After spending time with the Blue Jays last season, Michael joined the New York Mets organization. He spent the last month or so with the Buffalo Bisons, Raiderdan's home team.

# 55 - Chris Young

Are you excited about the All-Star game next Tuesday? I am.

2007 National League All-Star Chris Young signed a card for our set. Chris has spent the past few years with San Diego and is one of the nicest players anyone could meet.

# 389 - Callix Crabbe

Here's another card we had some help with. A friend on SportsGraphing.com had Callix Crabbe sign his 08 Topps card for us at a recent New Hampshire Fisher Cats game.

After spending some time with the Padres & Brewers, Callix is now with the Toronto Blue Jays organization. His only time with a big league club came while he was with the Padres in 2008.

# UH 147 - Josh Banks

Back in February I had pulled out two 08 Topps cards of Josh Banks to put in my pile of San Diego Padres cards to bring to Peoria for Spring Training. I soon found out that Banks is no longer with the Padres and is now with the Houston Astros organization. Since I already had his cards ready I quickly put together a letter and a self addressed stamped envelope and sent them to him c/o the Astros Spring Training facility in Kissimmee, Florida. Within a week Josh had returned our cards signed. Thanks, Josh!

# 106 - Josh Bard

The 2010 baseball season is well underway but we still have a handful of Spring Training autographs to catch up on.

Josh Bard was a pretty tough autograph during his time with the San Diego Padres. This year he was back in Peoria but on the Seattle Mariners side. I'm not sure how much he signed overall but we were able to get his 08 Topps card signed. Maybe we were just there on the right day.

# UH 287 - Chase Headley

Chase Headley made his Major League debut on June 15, 2007. Since then, he has been a fan favorite in San Diego. After moving to the outfield last year, the Padres will be looking to him to hold down third base in 2010.

Chase signed the card below for us a few weeks ago. Thanks, Chase!

# 401 - Scott Hairston

This is the last week of Spring Training and I still have plenty more 08 Topps cards to post about.

Next up is San Diego Padres outfielder, Scott Hairston. Scott in returning to the Padres after finishing the 2009 season in Oakland. This time he is being joined by his big brother, Jerry.

We were able to get both of the Hairston brothers autographs the other day. Unfortunately, Jerry doesn't have a card in the 08 Topps set.

# 94 - Bud Black

The San Diego Padres have gone through a lot of roster moves since 2008. They don't have many players still around who were wearing a Padres uniform when the 08 Topps set came out. However, their manager hasn't changed.

After a 15-year MLB career, Bud Black is entering his fourth season as manager of the Padres.

Little known fact: Bud Black was a member of the 1985 World Champion Kansas City Royals.

# 475 - Adrian Gonzalez

Picked up two cards recently in exchange for a little bit of Paypal from a friend on SportsGraphing.com.

The first card is of San Diego Padres first baseman, Adrian Gonzalez. I usually see the Padres a few times each year during Spring Training but Adrian has always been tough. Since he has 3 cards in the 2008 Topps set, I didn't mind spending a few dollars on this one.

# UH 325 - Clay Hensley

More mail! I sent a request to Clay Hensley back during the first week of June. He was playing in the Gulf Coast League for the GCL Marlins. I'm not sure if he was rehabbing or what but shortly after I sent my letter I noticed he was on the New Orleans Zephyrz roster. I kind of thought this one might have been a lost cause but today I received our 2008 Topps card back signed. Thanks, Clay!

# UH 320 - Heath Bell

One back today from Padres closer, Heath Bell. Heath's off to a pretty good start this season. He's quickly making a name for himself and proving that he's worthy of being Trevor Hoffman's successor.
