Here at My 2008 Topps Set Blog we're celebrating Black Friday with a 2008 Topps Black Border Parallel card! Hopefully by now you're finishing up your retail shopping especially if you started yesterday afternoon. I guess there were some good deals out there but I don't like that you now have to choose between having a Thanksgiving meal with your family or going to the stores.

I haven't bought many Black Border Parallel cards from the 2008 Topps set but I found this one of Adam Dunn for less than $2 shipped. I couldn't pass that up since it's one of Dunn's few cards that feature him on the D-Backs.

# 588 - Tony Gwynn Jr - Black Border Parallel

Tony Gwynn Jr signed his 2008 Topps Black Border Parallel card for our 08 Topps collection at a Spring Training practice back in February. He is currently playing for the Dodgers Triple A team in Albuquerque.

I like the black border parallel cards even though I don't have too many of them. This one is numbered 19/57 on the back.

A few weeks ago we picked up Joe Saunders 2008 Topps Black Border Parallel card in hopes of getting it signed at the Diamondbacks Fan Fest. We were successful!

This is the first Black Border Parallel card that we have been able to get signed. Very cool.

I really wanted this black border card and now I have it. My fingers are crossed in hopes of having C.J. Wilson sign it for us during Spring Training.

When I decided to start collecting the 08 Topps set I didn't even know that black bordered parallel cards existed. They're numbered to 57 and usually go for more than I'm interested in paying on eBay.

Picked up our first one for one dollar. I was happy.
