# UH 74 - Corey Patterson

Here's another one for our 2008 Topps set. I friend on SCN helped us out by getting Corey Patterson to sign his card from the Updates & Highlights set while he was playing with the Tacoma Rainiers.

It's a good thing he got it signed quickly because Corey was only there 19 before they released him. However, I saw that he signed with the Yankees yesterday and was assigned to their Triple A team.

We sent Joey Votto an autograph request last year and a few months later our card came back to us signed. This one's been in the queue for a future blog post for awhile. If I remember correctly, we've had it since about April.

A nice return from the 2010 National League MVP.

Former Cincinnati Reds reliever, Matt Belisle signed a card for our set. Matt's one of those guys I had meant to write to for awhile but never did. My procrastination turned out to be okay since we tracked him down at a Rockies Spring Training game.

I was able to work out a trade with a blog reader to add this signed card of Ryan Freel to our 08 Topps set. Nice card with a nice BIG signature.

# 424 - Aaron Harang

Former Reds ace, Aaron Harang is another new addition to the San Diego Padres this year. It's been awhile since I saw Aaron when he was with the Oakland A's. He was nice then and still is. Another nice addition to our 08 Topps set.

# 21 - Edwin Encarnacion

Good news! Another signed 08 Topps card for our set! This one is of former Cincinnati Reds infielder, Edwin Encarnacion. Edwin is now with the Toronto Blue Jays and unless they sign a veteran free agent he probably will be their DH next year.

# 255 - Brandon Phillips

Found this one in the same box that had Mark Reynolds. This was another TTM success from 2008 before we officially started working on our 08 Topps set. I don't think there are any other surprises lying around but who knows?

# 582 - Dusty Baker

Our next card is of baseball legend, Dusty Baker. Dusty has done it all in his career. During his playing days he was a 2x All-Star, a World Series champion, and the 1977 NLCS MVP. As a coach he has led the San Francisco Giants, the Chicago Cubs, and currently the Cincinnati Reds. He's even managed to win three NL Manager of the Year awards. Another good one... Cincinnatti Reds first baseman, Joey Votto signed a card for our set. Joey's MLB career is off to a great start. He's currently hitting .328/17/53. Not bad for a guy who missed a few weeks on the DL.

Edinson Volquez had a great year last season for the Cincinnatti Reds. Unfortunately he has spent the majority of this year on the disabled list. Hopefully he'll be back to the form that help him put up a 17-6 record with 200+ strikeouts in 2008.
